Creating Individual Journal Rankings Based on a Community Approach

Selecting appropriate publication outlets is crucial to any researcher. Journal rankings can be used to guide the selection, but their usefulness may be limited for particular audiences. In this paper, it is argued that especially young researchers and researchers in interdisciplinary fields can benefit from targeting research efforts to a specific community. The Conceptualisation and Measurement of Mega Sport Event Legacies

This paper focuses on the legacy of mega sport events. First, the concept of legacy is defined before the problems of measuring and forecasting legacy are discussed. Benchmarking and the use of macro data do not correctly reveal legacy. Hence a bottom-up approach is introduced which identifies the event legacy by evaluation of ‘soft’ and ‘hard’ event-related changes in a host city. Towards a More Balanced Approach to Digital Families

The book concludes with the claim that the modes and frequency of intra-family digital communication cannot be studied separately from the social functions that the different technologies have in extended families. In digital communication, when problems related to the use of new technology arise, a caring relationship emerges between a carer, attentive to the expressed care needs of the cared-for, and the latter, expected to provide some response in exchange for the help received. Finally, avenues for future research to are outlined, with the future of the digital family briefly considered.
